Faces of the Force
My favorite food: just about anything Thai or Mexican.
My favorite Tv show: CSI Miami or Las Vegas
My favorite song: Dollar by Jamie Johnson (It was the song that inspired me to take more time for my family than to chase that almighty dollar.)
My favorite activity other than baseball: fishing (I like being on the water 'cause most of the time it's a family affair and there's nothing better than to watch your kid catch that whopper of a fish on a lil Zebco 303 with 8 lb test.
What I wanted to be when I grew up: I had aspirations of becoming a doctor & was actually excepted into medical school, but for some reason I woke up one morning and decided I wanted to be a cop. Now I make ceiling tile, go figure.
My favorite MLB team: The Yankees, because that's Caleb's favorite team and it's team that we enjoy watching together.
My favorite MLB player: Ozzie Smith, because he was probably the greatest shortstop that ever blessed the diamond.
The best thing about being apart of Force Baseball: is without a shadow of a doubt the players and coaches I get to enjoy. All the boys this year are great boys, whom in one way or another seem to love playing this game called baseball. All these boys are great kids, and seeing their desire to learn is the flame that sparks my fire. As far as all the coaches are concerned, I couldn't have been more lucky to be associated with a group of men who don't merely teach baseball but lessons in life and the true meaning of respect and integrity. The program that we have dedicated ourselves to is an extension of our personalities in which we hope to share with these young men and transform their raw talent into not only good ballplayers, but fans of the game as it truly should be....FUN.
What inspires you to coach: the kids. I am enjoying their youth and desire to learn a game that I loved and still love to play. Teaching them the real way to play and share the skills that I was shared is an absolute delight for me.
What's the most important thing that you hope to teach: that it's not always about winning but how we play the game. Kind of like life, there's a 50/50 chance that we can make a wrong or a right decision, and whether we get that decision wrong or right it's always about the choices we make and how we learn from each opportunity that we are given.
