Fit and Fun
Children view play as an important ingredient in their lives. When a sport or fitness activity is nonthreatening, success-oriented and exciting, children become extremely motivated. Children are wired for fun. They enjoy laughing, playing and interacting while engaged in a sport or fitness activity. This can be a challenge for any adult seeking to coach or train a child in the sport or fitness field.
Teaching children in any capacity is a challenge. The adult has to be creative, energetic and always willing to adapt to the needs of a child. Although a group of children may be the same in age, each child is at a different level physically, emotionally and mentally. These differences challenge the coach or teacher in getting to know each child as an individual in order to get the best response from the child. Recognizing individual gifts, personalities, and adapting to the child while teaching will build a solid foundation for a solid motivated team.
"Two stone cutters were asked what they were doing. the first said, "I'm cutting this stone into blocks." the second replied, "I'm on a team that's building a cathedral."
May our team be one seeking together to build a cathedral.
